OBJECTIVES
- Evaluate the peer education program of the Red Cross in Rwanda
- Study the personal, social, cultural, political, economic
and other determinants of sexual risk behaviour among young people in Rwanda - Study the needs of young people concerning HIV prevention
- Formulate recommendations for the adaptation of peer education
program based on the determinants of sexual risk behaviour and the needs of the
young people - Develop an adapted program based on the identified determinants and the needs of the young people
- Examine the preferred prevention method of the Rwandan youth
METHODS
- Quantitative methods: standardized questionnaires
- Qualitative methods: group analysis and focus group discussions

- Field study in Rwanda
- Training of Rwandan researchers
- Study the determinants of sexual risk behaviour and the needs of the young people
- Examine to what extent the existing peer education program involves
the determinants of sexual risk behaviour and to what extent it answers to the
needs of the young people
