Workshop: From research to action in the field of Reproductive Health | ICRH

OBJECTIVES

• To improve the impact of EC supported Reproductive Health (RH) research on the effectiveness and efficiency of RH development projects and programmes.

METHODS

• Fifteen key-experts in RH, men and women, from Europea, Africa, Asia and Latin America were invited to participate in the Ghent workshop where recommendations and strategies to improve the link between RH research and RH development projects were discussed and formulated.
• In addition, representatives of a successful EC supported development project in post-abortion care and of a regional network on health issues of migrant populations were invited.
• The programme was organized around six main topics: 1. general introduction on the interaction between Research and Development 2. research on the improvement of RH services 3. research on policies for improved practices 4. anthropological, cultural and sociological research in reproductive health 5. role of donors in agenda setting 6. from research to action: recommendations and strategies: working groups
