ICRH symposium 2007: "Sexual and Reproductive Health Research: Making a Difference"

Venue: Monasterium PoortAckere, 56 Oude Houtlei, Ghent

The symposium aims to clarify and to endorse the role of sexual and reproductive health research in policy development and community action. During parallel sessions, the international ICRH staff and partners will present key research findings from projects in Africa, South-America, Asia and Europe.

The following topics will be covered:

  1. Sexual and reproductive health and family planning
  2. HIV/AIDS
  3. Gender-based violence and female genital mutilation
  4. Sexually transmitted diseases and cervical cancer

The plenary and parallel sessions will be preceded by lectures from invited keynote speakers, including:

  1. Lieve Fransen (European Commission)
  2. Ivan Hermans (United Nations Populations Fund)
  3. Saul Walker (International Partnership for Microbicides)
  4. Nathalie Broutet (World Health Organization)
  5. Dirk Van den Bulck (High Commissioner for Refugees and Stateless Persons - CGSV)
