Amnesty International Chair for prof. dr. Nawal El Saadawi | ICRH

Ghent University will award the Amnesty International Chair 2008-2009 to Prof. dr. Nawal El Saadawi on 31 March 2009. This initiative of Ghent University and Amnesty International Flanders rewards yearly since 2008 a human rights activist. Prof. dr. Nawal El Saadawi was invited because of her work as an Egyptian doctor, psychiatrist and feminist writer.Prof. dr. Nawal El Saadawi will give a public lecture and conduct a debate with prof. dr. Marleen Temmerman (ICRH), moderated by prof. dr. Sami Zemni, about "Creativity, Politics and Women's Rights". The lecture will start at 20:00 in the Vooruit, Sint-Pietersnieuwstraat 23, Ghent.
