In line with the Belgian policy paper on "The Belgian Contribution to the Fight against HIV/AIDS Worldwide" (March 2006), the Belgian Technical Cooperation decided to develop a policy for internal mainstreaming HIV/AIDS whereby specific attention will be paid to the gender aspects that affect the susceptibility and vulnerability of its employees to HIV/AIDS. ICRH was commissioned to develop this policy as well as an action plan.
