The project was part of a multicountry programme for "Support for Reproductive Health and Gender Needs for Displaced Populations with Special Attention to Adolescents." It was a four-year programme (September 2000- August 2004) and supported by the Belgian development cooperation. It was implemented in seven different countries, including Colombia, that are still affected by or emerging from war and armed conflict .
